Sadie is medium energy.  Very sweet. Gets vocal when she wants attention.  Very confident. She listens very well. Her favorite thing is belly rubs. She likes to play tug of war with anything (towel, toy, leash) food motivated. Short and stocky Adoption fee is $150 (which includes all vetting plus 1 month heartworm prevention and flea tick prevention, martingale collar, and a bag of the food she is currently on) and she is available for adoption via Shelter Animals Advocates. www.shelteranimalsadvocates.org

What we know about Sadie,
Sadie's owner died, and she went from going on car rides living inside to chained-up in the back yard.  The family of her previous owner was barely interested in her well-being.  Animal Control stepped in and gave them a week to decide how to continue to care for her.  They agreed to surrender her to the local shelter.  At intake, Sadie was diagnosed with heartworms, whipworms, and hookworms at the shelter.  They spayed her, cleared her hookworms and whipworms, then we pulled her into our rescue for heartworm treatment, and we now search for a good home for her.
Sadie is housebroken, and she is a very clean and tidy dog.  She likes toys.  However, Sadie doesn't demolish them as most dogs do.  She carries them in her mouth.  She thinks it is a game when we leash her and grabs the leash to walk herself outside.
Update,
Come May 2022, Sadie will have been with us for one year.  She will be 3 years.  It's not her fault she is in this situation.  People failed her.  When people get animals, they rarely think about what will happen to their life companions if they should pass on.  Maybe if her owner had planned better, she would have landed somewhere lovely with people who would have cared for her instead of tossed outside to acquire heartworms living on a chain.  Now she is in a rescue competing for a home.  For dogs like Sadie, the adoption market is very tight for them.
Today she is cured of her heartworms.  We were told she gets along with dogs.  We think it isn't all dogs.  As most times, she is quiet in the kennel.  When we bring in a rowdy dog, she has to fuss at them.  She does not do this to the calmer dogs.  We think she would do well in a home with older children.  She has never been tested with cats.
She will come microchipped, spayed, one month of heartworm preventative, rabies up to date, bordetella and dhpp all up to date.  All of our dogs leave with a large bag of dog food.
